Record Ticket Sales and a Fashion Festival First

Queensland fashion fans have wasted no time showing their enthusiasm for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, leading to unprecedented ticket sales and an exciting first for the Festival!

With more than 2,000 tickets sold in less than seven days, the Fashion Festival team are excited to announce that two runway Group Shows will be repeated, for the first time in the event’s 12-year history.

Mercedes-Benz Group Shows 1 and 2 will both enjoy a spectacular encore. Mercedes-Benz Group Show 1, hosted at St John’s Cathedral on Tuesday 28 August, features: Camilla, Moreno Marcos, Ginger & Smart, White Label Noba, alice McCALL, Bianca Spender, Dion Lee, Scanlan Theodore, Ella Moda and George Wu.

Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2 on Thursday 30 August, at Old Government House, features: Aqua Blu Australia, Rubyyaya, Maiocchi, Naudic, Bonita Kaftans, Helen Grant, Sacha Drake, Bora and Urbbana.

Fashion lovers now have a second chance to catch the Spring/Summer collections by these leading Queensland and Australian designers on the runway, as these two sold-out shows run a second time, at 8.30pm.

Despite a new runway format at Old Government House that allows for an increased seating capacity of almost 25% compared to the 2017 Festival, tickets to all Group Shows are selling fast.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane Director, Lindsay Bennett, is ecstatic with the response so far.

“We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm that people have shown for our program this year. It is so heartening to see this huge display of support for the local fashion industry, and we are proud to have such a great platform to promote Queensland, Australian and next gen fashion talent,” Mr Bennett said.

“The Fashion Festival is such an important event for connecting local designers with consumers. I have no doubt that given the incredible response so far, our participating designers and retailers are going to see a significant increase in exposure and sales as a result of this year’s Festival.”

Limited tickets still remain for the Pacific Fair Fashion Show on Monday 27 August, featuring the new season collections from luxury, Australian and International fashion brands including: AJE, alice McCall, David Jones, Dion Lee, Ginger & Smart, Harrolds, Manning Cartell, Myer and more luxury brands; and the Next Gen Group Show on Wednesday 29 August, featuring: QUT Fashion, Kimbralou, Kokoswim, KG BOLD, Annalisse Designs, TAFE Queensland, Murrii Quu Designs, Club Couture Australia, Jordan Hewitt, Nardia Panettiere Couture, Black N Bling and ZENgara by Naomi De Marco.

The indulgent QueensPlaza High Tea and Fashion Trends series is also selling quickly; held this year in the magnificent Grand Ballroom at Tattersall’s Club, the High Teas showcase the top fashion labels and trends from QueensPlaza.

And, tickets to the encore runways of Mercedes-Benz Group Shows 1 and 2 are on sale from Monday 11 June from 9am.
