Project Description

AEIOU / Craggy Range
Charity Luncheon

Sunday 17 February 2013

Leading brands throw their support behind charity initiative

Brisbane’s latest dining venue and front runner in the inner-city pack, Bistro One Eleven, and premier New Zealand winery, Craggy Range, are pleased to host a charity luncheon in support of the AEIOU Foundation. On Sunday, 17th February 2013, guests will be invited to indulge in an afternoon of food, wine and philanthropy.

Bistro One Eleven is the second and most recent venture by renowned and award-winning Australian chef, Philip Johnson. Located within the striking architectural building, 111 Eagle Street in the heart of the CBD, the space is contemporary and elegant yet laid back and relaxed, offering spectacular views of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. Philip Johnson serves up delicious cuisine, with his renowned gene of simplicity bound with impeccable ingredients and guests at the AEIOU luncheon can expect a particularly indulgent dining experience.

Commencing at 12.30pm, guests will be treated to sumptuous canapés and Champagne Barons De Rothschild, before being seated for a three-course lunch accompanied by matched Craggy Range wines. A selection of benchmark wines of the world will also be available for guests to enjoy at a ‘cellar table’ throughout the event, courtesy of Craggy Range.

Craggy Range is a family created and owned winery with vineyards situated in the pure, climatic and beautiful wine-growing region of New Zealand. Established in 1996, Craggy Range began with an ambitious goal: to create new benchmarks with wines that would become internationally recognised as the “New World classics.”  Craggy Range wines claim a true point of distinction with their single vineyard origins and unique reflection of the New Zealand culture and land.

An auction on the day will raise funds for AEIOU Foundation, for children with autism. AEIOU is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing a professional, full-time early intervention program of the highest quality for children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

There are fabulous prizes to be won during the auction, including:

  • An incredible weekend away for four couples, staying in Hayman Island’s Beach Villas designed by internationally acclaimed architect Kerry Hill; and private jet travel with catering by Philip Johnson. Prize valued at over $40,000.
  • An exceptional, limited-edition large format Methuselah of Champagne Barons De Rothschild, featuring the signatures of Baroness Philippine and Barons Eric and Benjamin. This is one of only 25 bottles of the world’s first cuvee produced, and is presented in a luxurious gift box.
  • A private dining experience with acclaimed chef Philip Johnson at Bar E’cco for 12 people, with matched wines by Craggy Range.
  • A luxurious stay for two at Cabarita Ocean Health Retreat on the North Coast of New South Wales; the only health retreat in Australia located on the oceanfront.

Tickets to The AEIOU Charity Luncheon at Bistro One Eleven are $250 each, with 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales and funds raised on the day going to the AEIOU Foundation. The venue, food, wine and all auction prizes have been generously donated.
