Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane

2013

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is back, fresher and fiercer than ever for 2013. Teaming an iconic new venue with the hottest Spring/Summer collections, the Fashion Festival has hit refresh for its return to the River City from Sunday 25 – Friday 30 August.

The Fashion Festival is going back to the future, returning to its most iconic home at the newly-refurbished City Hall with an exciting new program and runway format. While the Fashion Festival ups the ante with a fresh new look, what remains constant is the unwavering support of Mercedes-Benz, back as the principal sponsor for their eighth consecutive year in 2013.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is Queensland’s standalone, major runway programme and Australia’s foremost consumer fashion event showcasing Spring/Summer collections. Featuring some of the most desirable labels in Australian fashion alongside the best of local Queensland designers and retailers, the Fashion Festival presents a tantalising cross-section of the season’s hottest trends and awe-inspiring showpieces.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is dedicated to driving fashion retail for Queensland, by connecting consumers directly with local designers and retailers. The Fashion Festival is a consumer-driven event, making fashion accessible with a diverse program that allows every fashion lover to be part of a major sartorial event.

Last year, the Festival hosted some 7,000 fashion fans, with 12 of the 14 ticketed events across the week completely selling out. In a direct and immediate benefit for participating designers and retailers, show-goers inspired by the runway quickly hit the boutiques to snap up their favourite new-season pieces.

Many designers reported that they received a fantastic response from customers, attracted new clientele and increased media attention, or even sold out collections following their show. The Fashion Festival showcases new-season collections as they drop in-store, meaning that every item seen on the runway is available to buy. This offers consumers a new level of fashion accessibility and directly promotes the designers on show.

Now in its eighth year, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is pleased to make a return to City Hall. City Hall is the veritable heart of Brisbane and one of the city’s most important heritage landmarks, providing the perfect backdrop for a celebration of Queensland’s local industry and the spectacle of a lavish fashion event.

The Fashion Festival is also thrilled to welcome back its naming-rights sponsor, Mercedes-Benz, for another year. As the Festival’s major and most steadfast sponsor, the ongoing and generous support of Mercedes-Benz is crucial in ensuring the event’s massive success.

“Mercedes-Benz has been committed to fashion for over a decade, becoming an experienced and renowned partner of major international fashion platforms throughout the world,” said Horst von Sanden, Managing Director – Mercedes-Benz Cars in Australia.

“We are proud to once again be the principal partner of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, an event that provides an exciting stage to showcase Queensland’s talented designers.”

The pattern has been cut for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, with details of the new program and the designers you can expect to see on the runway to be announced shortly. Stay tuned.
